AKC registered from German and Yugoslavian lines, with Othello von der Teufelsbrucke on the sire side and Bronko od Dragicevica on the dam side.
Rocco measures 65cm (25.5") at the withers. This makes him a large dog of correct height, 3cm short of maximum height. Here's the rottweiler standard for reference: AKC standard for rottweilers : Males 24-27” (height at the withers) USRC (United States rottweiler club) standard: Males 61-68cm (height at the withers)
61 - 62cm is small
63 - 64cm is medium height
65 - 66cm is large - correct height
67 - 68cm is very large
He has very nice bone, dark mahogany markings, and a head piece that I consider ideal for a rott. Dentition, mouth pigment, eye color and earset are all correct.
Rocco is a very stable dog, friendly with people and good with children. He's alert to noises and sights but is calm around the house. This dog is intelligent and discriminating. Once obedience training was done he's retaining it for years without a need for additional work.
Rocco is a good protection dog, he'll bark/alert when out in the yard and senses an intrusion, and will take aggressive action if he feels threat to his people or property. He has demonstrated this on various occasions through scenarios I set up.
He has very serious prey drive and works very well on a sleeve and bitesuit, biting full and hard shaking out the bite. One of the hardest biters I've seen he's clear headed in his work and responds well to directions while on the bite.
Please excuse the poor work ethic. Living in Florida wearing slippers is habitual, and makes getting in and out of a bite suit easier, right Greg In seriousness this dog is a clean biter when the suit is present, and for a quick agitation session we weren't worried about an accidental foot bite.
if i was in the US i'd certainly be very interested... shame it'd cost far more than i can afford to bring one out to aus
good luck with the fuzzy little bears, they should be cracker pups!
I echo the above comments, I hav been a fan of your boy Dan and its a shame I do not live in the US, all indications point towards these being amazing pups at an honest price. You should have no problems finding serious buyers.
Some random pics of the two pups I kept back until I could pick one for myself. They're about 3.5 months now.
The family.
I can't tell the pups apart in the pics, they look a lot alike. One is a little bigger though, he was the biggest one in the litter from the beginning.
Caught this sequence of my male warning the pups away from the toy, then nailing one who got too close. There was some yelping
