Firstly sorry for the long post id like to know about other forum members first ppd training session and if it was as dismall as mine,so il start off with my first training session this happened a few weeks ago anyway I drove to the trainers house and packed the equipment in the cars and set off for the ground we arrived and he gave me a brief overview of the training and taught me the "kennel" command and how to hold the leash etc now the fun begins he stood a few feet away and begun to agitate my dog while I was giving the attack command no response or aggression from my dog whatsoever(he showed avoidance) so the trainer decided to leave him instead of breaking him down completely the trainer taught me about dogs pack structure and informed that dogs are more confident in a pack.So I left my dog at his house with a trained malinois to form a temporary pack.I returned a few days later to try again we used a different agitator this time with the malinois for support my trainer holding the malinois and me with my pitbull the malinois lit up instantly and went for the sausage spit it out and tried to get the agitator my dog saw this and decided it meant that he could sleep at my feet the agitator threw the sausage at him and taunted him and me giving the command but nothing basically all in all.I stopped my dogs ppd training and purchased a nice black sable gsd female who is tested taking the sausage and starting on the sleeve id like to hear your first time stories too
